A downloadable asset pack

The free sampler. All 30 interface sounds, five versions of each, same engine and same mastering as the paid packs.

THE SOUND THAT PLAYS HUNDREDS OF TIMES PER CONVERSATION

Every dialogue blip in an RPG fires once per character. A single conversation

plays it three hundred times. It is the most repetition-punished sound in games,

and the industry already knows it — there are RPG Maker plugins whose entire

purpose is to pick a random sample and shift its pitch so the repetition is less

obvious. That is a workaround for not having the thing itself.

This pack has 5 dialogue blips that are genuinely different sounds,

not one sound wearing 5 hats. Same for the other 29 events.

YOUR BUTTON DOES NOT NEED 500 SOUNDS. IT NEEDS ONE CLICK THAT DOES NOT GET OLD.

Most interface packs sell you a bigger pile: 200 sounds, 500 sounds. But you

still need a click, and however big the pile is you still only have one of

them. After two hundred presses the player stops hearing feedback and starts

hearing a loop.

This pack is built the other way round. 30 interface events, and

5 genuinely different versions of each one. Not one file

pitch-shifted 5 times: every version is an independent synthesis with

its own oscillators, envelope and filtering. With the included scripts, a press

plays a version that has not played yet, so nothing repeats until all

5 have been heard and nothing ever repeats back-to-back.

MEASURED, NOT CLAIMED

Anyone can write "varied" on a store page. Here is the number instead. Every

version is compared against every other one across timbre, rhythm and duration,

and the exact same code is run on the best-selling free interface pack on

itch.io as a reference point. Both sides are measured over the same number of

versions, because that figure moves with sample size and comparing them raw

would flatter whichever pack is smaller:

                                       this pack     the reference pack

variation, worst family in the pack  0.37            0.34

    variation, typical pair              1.11            1.04

    clipping                             none            peaks at 1.000

audible cut at the end of a file     none            up to 0.256

loudness spread across the pack      2.8 dB         4.8 dB

Two of those need saying plainly.

The worst family is the row that matters most, and it is where this pack is

furthest ahead. It is the single place in a pack where a player would notice

repetition, so it sets what you actually hear.

The typical pair is a row this pack wins as well, which is worth pointing out

because it did not have to: a pack with a strong house style normally trades

some of that spread away.

MADE WITHOUT AI AND WITHOUT SAMPLES

Every sound here is computed from oscillators, envelopes and filters by code

written for this pack. No recordings, no samples from third-party libraries,

and no generative AI anywhere in the process.

That is also why the variations are real. A recorded click is one click

forever, and pitch-shifting it just makes it sound pitch-shifted. A synthesised

click is built again from nothing every time.

WHAT YOU GET

  - 150 sounds — 30 families x 5 versions

  - Mono WAV, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz

  - OGG Vorbis versions as well, for lighter builds

  - Drop-in Unity and Godot scripts that play the versions from a shuffled bag,

so no clip can ever repeat back-to-back. Plain random does repeat: with

5 clips it plays the same one twice in a row about 20% of

the time, which is the exact thing you came here to avoid.

  - Every sound levelled to a common loudness and not just a common peak, so

nothing in the pack jumps out and nothing disappears.

click, hover, keypress, select, confirm, cancel, error

alert, notify, toggle_on, toggle_off, open, close, transition

reward, unlock, scan, pop, swipe, tick, drop

dialogue, coin, purchase, equip, page, save, charge

  levelup, deny

THE REST OF THE SERIES

Cozy UI SFX             $5.99   warm and soft - farming, life sim, puzzle, wholesome

Retro Arcade UI SFX     $5.99   real 8-bit hardware - pixel art, arcade, chiptune

Neon Terminal UI SFX    $5.99   metallic and glitchy - sci-fi, hacking, terminal UI

Every pack in the series has the same 30 events and the same mastering.

What changes is the character, and the number of versions of each sound.
